Property Assessment
The first step during your property’s assessment is determining the cause of the water damage. A Trident water damage specialist will arrive to assess the environment and any damages that may have occurred. Upon determining the cause, repairs may need to be made in order to prevent further damage. The Trident team will determine the category of water damage and identify potential contaminants. Determining the category of water is an important step as different mitigation techniques are required for different types of water.
The Category of Water Damage
The categories are determined as followed; Category 1- Clean water damage, when the water source is clean and sanitary. This includes but is not limited to faucets, water lines, drinking fountains, sink or bathtub if there are no contaminants. If it is not cleaned quickly, or it is contaminated it may become a Category 2. Also called grey water, where the water source has a level of contamination that may cause illness or discomfort if ingested.
This can include dishwashers, washing machines, or overflows from toilets that include urine but not feces. Category 3; Black water, water that has a dangerous level of known contamination that may include pathogens, toxins, or other harmful bacteria. This can be caused from sewage, flooding, storms or stagnant water that creates bacteria.

The Process
Once the source and category of water has been determined Trident Restoration’s water damage specialists will work to remove any standing water using machine extraction. After all standing water has been efficiently and effectively extracted our technicians will begin drying out the air and structure itself using low grain dehumidifiers and industrial strength air movers to eliminate the chance of microbial growth. The final step is to sanitize and restore your property. During this step structural damage such as walls, carpets, floors, and ceilings may need to be removed and replaced. Trident’s services include the removal, disposal and replacement of these structural items.
Personal items that have suffered damage will be carefully archived to both make room for larger overall renovations and to be deep cleaned and restored to their original state if needed. After your contents have been thoroughly cleaned, they are safely stored in our facility until you are ready to move back into your home. We then provide a move back for the inventoried contents and offer our assistance in unpacking and putting your home back as it was before.
